pre-football season

Ok, it’s almost my favorite time of year again(!) I simply can’t wait much longer. It didn’t really hit me until I happened across the Irish Sports Report late one night and realized that it was closer than I thought it was. Our kick off date is September 6th. I am kind of tentatively excited about this year. I know it’s going to be better than last year. (don’t even say it, just don’t even go there) No matter what happens, I will still be loyal to my Irish!

And to make this football season even sweeter, my own little Zai is now a rocket footballer! You shoulda seen him and Ronnie’s little man w/ their little shoulder pads on. He can hardly stand it, he’s put his gear on at least 3 times today. We have 6 games and practice 2x a week. The practice schedule seems kind of rough, but this rocket football is some serious stuff. There are lots more rules and regulations and plays than say soccer or t-ball. But I am proud of him. I am really hoping that he finds his place in football. He didn’t really luv t-ball, has no interest in soccer. So, I will post some pics of my little footballer in his little uniform soon. šŸ™‚

Oh! And did you hear that the Cubs calledĀ Smardja up into the major leagues?? So happy for him!

  1. Lol, you sound like me with basketball season. I never was much into football, but I think I might be a little more into it this year…. Something about working with all men might influence me to watch a bit more football than I normally would… Go KC Chiefs!

  2. Sweet! I am so excited for football!!! What does it mean, ‘rocket football’? Is that the name of his team, the Rockets? Or is it a kind of football for younger kids?
